Wedding Stationery help and advice.

First and most important, set your budget and decide on your wedding day colours and theme. Choose from one of our many designs or send us your own ideas. Remember we are able to design and produce any stationery item in the colour and theme of your choice at your request.

Save the Date Cards:

These are very useful if you are planning to hold your wedding during a holiday season or if you have guests travelling long distance. It allows your guests time to plan travel and accomodation or arrange their vacations around the proposed date. Save the Date cards can be sent out as soon as you have agreed on the date of your wedding.

The wording can be quite simple:

David Jones and Sarah Smith

are getting married on

12th August 2009

Please Save the Date

A formal invitation will follow

Day Invitation:

This is the most important wedding stationery item you will need to order. It is a good idea to match the style and colours of the invitation to match your wedding day theme. This sets the tone of the day and adds a touch of class to the occasion. The day invitation is traditionally sent by the Brides parents as hosts of the celebrations. ALICe Crafts are happy to help you with the invitation wording and advise you on etiquette if the hosts are other than the Brides parents.

The wording of the invitation should include:

The name(s) of the hosts

The full name(s) of the guest(s)

The date and time of the ceremony

The ceremony venue

The reception venue

Items that may be included in the invitation envelope:

A map of the ceremony and reception venues

A reply card and/or a stamped addressed envelope

Order of the day

Wedding gift list

any other useful information such as local accomodation

Evening reception only invitations:

These can be in the form of a flat card or a slightly smaller version of the day invitation with information regarding the time and place of the evening celebrations. Replies can be less formal by including a reply E-mail address or Tel No.

Order of Service:

The Order of Service is given to your guests as they arrive at the ceremony venue. It can take the form of a small booklet or a simple scroll tied with a ribbon matching your wedding colours.
